Zijn jullie hotels wel vlakbij de campings? Frank is ‘s morgens altijd vroeg op, als eerste weg om ergens verderop zijn tent weer op te zetten.

In dat geval zullen we een camping zo’n 200 km vóór het hotel uitzoeken.

PS. Als Frank er zo één is die graag bij het eerste ochtendgloren op staat dan
kan hij zijn lol op in Lapland.

Ik ben een lang slaper,en ik slaap waarschijnlijk in mijn break maar misschien ook wel hotel.
Daar ben ik nog niet over uit.
Ben zelf nu bezig met sponsoring,om de cx tip top te krijgen voor de lange rit.en dat lukt waarschijnlijk voor een paar stickers extra bij mij op de cx
en voor de reserve onderdelen moesten we maar eens een lijstje gaan maken,dan kunnen we die ook gaan lenen bij .........
Mijn reserve onderdelen zijn al bekent,paar liter LHM en de retour bundels.en koelvloeistof.

Dat niet alleen de Europese pers vertegenwoordigd was in Lapland blijkt uit dit Australische tijdschriftartikel uit oktober 1974. Na een rit van 400 km in de 2000 en 2200 besluit men: “If only Australian manufacturers could come up with something fresh as the Citroën CX. It would be an instant Car of the Year!”

Hi Everyone!

After meeting Rens and some of the dutch Citroën CX club people at Citromobile 2013 me and my friends have been very interested in participating in your Raid Arctique event. It seems like the perfect way to celebrate the 40 year anniversary!
Here is my CX and my girl in Lappland, on E12 (the Blue Road) on our way south through Sweden from Mo i Rana, Norway (where the national hydraulic Citroën-meet was held):

So my CX already have some experience from driving in the north. It’s very beautiful up there, and exotic even to a native Norwegian like me (born and raised in the south.)

I will be driving my GTI Turbo 1986, which Arjan has correctly recognized.
It’s originally a Turbo1, but now has T2-engine with intercooler - but still on T1 engine management (long story…)
Only difference from the ICCCR-picture is that I now have period correct, Norwegian aluminum plates. And in the Lappland picture the bumpers have the wrong color, which I have now corrected as you can see in the ICCCR photo.
Would love to have original Turbo wheels and TRXes for the Raid, but I will need to prioritize money on the front suspension and we all know how much TRX tires cost…

I’m working on spreading the word about the Raid on the Norwegian forums - I hope at least one more Norwegian car will join. Maybe even more for some part of the trip.

I probably met some of you guys on Citromobile 2013, but I’m afraid I’m very bad at remembering names I’m the tall guy with beard and long hair and the girlfriend on the roller skates
