For bigger sized images: you can host photos externally, on sites like Flickr or MyAlbum what have you, then deeplink them here in a bigger size. It’s not totally optimal, admittedly, but it works.

Did you ran the car with or without the interior heating on? I had this problem after I removed the radiator for maintenance. Chances are that you have an air bubble there = highest point of the system.
CITROEN DS If I have to explain you wouldn’t understand
Citroen DS SUPER. this car have Engine is DX4, 2350cc, 115 hp, 5500 rpm, 2,3 liter. In registre documents in our country “specialists” write that it is ID 19 ? model, but this is wrong.
I found that in Citroen 1973 Year, 5 gang, DS Super must be with 2175cc engine but this car is with 2347cc engine 2.3 liter
And this car in Netherlands was with LPG gas. LPG gas pipes was wrong installed. now they will be off
Now mechanic think that need more carefully check water pump. Maybe it is not working at it must work.

As far as I know, all DS23 (DX4) models were fitted with the horizontal-flow, higher capacity cooling system from the IE (DX3, DX5) models. I wonder if a standard cooling system like the one shown will be enough to keep a DX4 engine cool. But I haven’t ever run a DX4 with a simple cooling system, so I wonder what others here think.

@mr Rubins. You have a interesting but also difficult case..
If the engine runs, do you see that all pully’s and belts are turning/moving? On the photos, i see a single belt (that doesn’’t have to be the problem, but is is not the original configuration).
Have you checked your cooling circuit with a digital thermometer, to detect hot/colt spots?
I think I see a gas (LPG) system. that means that the cooling circuit is changed. Is the defroster and LPG Circuit connected well? LPG means high temp. Is the LPG-air mixure oke?
Is the overheating if you drive on gas, petrol of independent of that?
Last question for now: an easy check: is the cooling air inlet clean, not blocked and original configured. Cooling starts under the nose.

Citroën, dat rijdt pas fijn
LPG is disconnected now. Engine run without LPG.

You are very right indeed. This engine, the 23, needs the big radiator with the separate tank.
Ik ben niet arrogant. Ik ben de beste.
