This is my new acquisition. It is a bit of a mess but I will have a good look tomorrow to see if it is restorable or just for parts.

Congrats, Greeney!
What is it with light blue DSes?? I love that colour! It’s even better with a white roof… By the way, I’ve seen tattier looking ones out here in Holland still floating about - mine, for example Fingers crossed for her start-up & resurrection!!

Congratulations !
Don’t be afraid - you should not look at things as what they are, but as what you can make out of it.
The same for houses, boats, furniture, jobs, etc.
Of course it is a lot of work, if you want to restaurate, but that gives certainly more satisfaction than buying a brand new car.
It might become a hobby.
I hope you will soon hear the engine turn and see the lady rise !
Dit is geen auto ; het is een schip.
Have you seen the picture of my house on my other website?

all very nice, these projects of yours, but can’t you stay in your own department and not steel our cars from the creuse?
this godess looks like she can run again. take your time, don’t rush it.
This is after a days work.
Did nt really try to get it started as I put a battery on it and the starter motor clonked will try harder tomorrow after I stop denuding.
Sorry to disappoint Mark I have never really been a huge fan of the SM as lovely as it is it was always the DS that tickled my fancy

For a few years,one could order a DSuper (1985cc) with a 5 speed gearbox.
That option was deleted when the DSuper5 (2100cc) came on the list.
‘Spirit of avant-garde’
Ahh that explains it it is a ID20 on the vin tag Thank you

E-type: Most Beautiful Car EVER! Period. Heresy or not, it’s the simple truth. Once you’ve had one look over that power bulge, you’re done for…
On the other hand, cars that need to be gunned out at full bore - I’ll have one of those BMW 3.0 CSL’s any day! The DS is best for cruising (which is why I can’t make up my mind between me old Bimmer & the old Lady), though I have to say they move deceptively fast… I like this digression, by the way

back on track
Then with todays work
In my opinion there is no better way than this getting to know a vehicle and I am pleased I can do it on a scrapper so I make the mistakes on that and not my beauty
Saying that I still havent had a GOOD look under yet I am waiting until I get it all apart I am a methodical Virgo Rolling Eyes
I have had my daughter writing out freezer bag labels on zip up bags for nearly every nut and bolt in case it was going back together but even now if the chassis is as good as I think it might be I am going to have it dipped and galvanised and maybe sell it on.As well as the other bits and pieces that I am not keeping.
On my “other one” One of the headlamp glasses says SEV Marchal the other CIBIE Now I can change it so they both say the same. Yes I like all my screw slots in-line too…
Its an absolute marvel how it all goes together BUT God isnt getting the light pods out of the wings fiddly. Embarassed

This is where I am now, TODAY I removed engine, gearbox and front leading arm units as well as all the plumbing in between sheltering from the rain.
The chassis is good, with only very minor problems, the boot back edge actually being the biggest but luckily it had nt spread Shocked
I am going to see about having its baking powder stripped and maybe galvanized depending on cost otherwise primed and repainted ready for sale

Wow, Greeney, you’re actually making extremely useful reference pics now ! Being quite new to the DS, I’d wondered about how the spaceframe was conceived. But that’s all getting quite a bit clearer! With your chassis being stripped for easy acces, would you mind taking pics of the inside of the sills?? I think mine might be in need of some, well, TLC under the outside covers, and I’d love to know what it should look like!!
Might be a good one to add to your site: reference pics of a good DS frame!
Keep up the good work,
Derk
