The regulator on the side of the battery, do they have to match the alternator for example “Paris Rhone to paris Rhone alternator and Ducellier to ducellier alternator”? or are they interchangeable?
I just wondered as I have a spare one which I have cleaned and repainted but there is no point in keeping it if they are not.

Different regulators are interchangeable, you don’t have to worry. The no was that the altenator and regulator don’t have to be from the same firm.
All regulators function that they activate the rotor of the altenator when de battery voltage drops below 13.5 volt.
