I am wanting to remove the steering rack, it itself only needs minor work and a clean up and repaint but I have a hole in the jambeaux under it that needs attention
How do I remove it from the shaft I cant seem to find a way, I have taken off the steering wheel but cant seem to get the last big nut off to withdraw the rack with the shaft, what is the best way

I have removed the main nut but there is a large holding nut on the shaft with an oval nut with 2 flat sides on top of that that I cannot shift

I done it with the help of the French traction club forum, it was deceiving because of what looked like a top nut, it isnt, all it is is a taper fit,and woodruff key put separator on it and wd40, heated it up and bang it came off under pressure rack removed.
