Zo ik had een mooi leidingkje laten maken voor de olietoevoer van de turbo. Ik nog tegen de meneer zeggen, ‘hij moet tegen hitte kunnen’. Nou dat kon die dus niet. Eerste serieuze proefrit en ik kwam als een soort re-entry vehicle terug naar de garage. Met een beetje geluk is de turbo nog gewoon heel. Zo blijven we tenminste bezig.

Er is zeker verschil. De turbo komt iets later in, maar dat was met die formaat wel te verwachten. Wellicht is dat nog wat te verbeteren door het uitlaat traject nog wat verder onder handen te nemen, of misschien met een andere onconventionele oplossing.
In ieder geval merk je dat het beademingsprobleem weg is, de fut is er 5000tpm nog lang niet uit. Maar dat zijn de bevindingen uit slechts een enkele proefrit, en er is nog veel meer te doen voordat we weer eens bij iets van een ‘stabiele’ incarnatie zijn. Intercooler, uitlaatspruitstuk en gehele uitlaat gaan allemaal weer op de helling, en ook die nieuwe versie van de PT moet er op voordat we weer gaan banken.
Doort geklooi met de intercooler heb ik denk ik wel de mogelijkheid gevonden een mooi setje samen te stellen waarbij een gti turbo 1 relatief goedkoop van een nieuwe intercooler kan worden voorzien die een veel beter doorstroming heeft dan de originele. Past allen niet in combinatie met een airco helaas maar voor de niet airco auto’s ziet het er uit alsof dat wel aardig moet gaan werken.

Ga jij de intercooler weer weg halen (jij hebt toch airco) zodat deze niet meer door je bumper heen steekt? Alweer een nieuw pijpje kunnen monteren zodat het olie veld in Abbenes in de auto blijft? [. Indirect zijn er al wel wat leuke spin offs geweest. De zoektocht heeft al een paar eenvoudige aanpassingen opgeleverd waarmee je voor een paar honderd euro een standaard gti turbo al een stuk fijner kan laten rijden.
Je mag mij op de mailing list zetten mits ik het er zelf onder kan frotten.. Heel graag zelfs!

De intercooler wordt nog weer omgegooid ja. Mijn auto heeft geen airco, dus de nieuwe intercooler komt tussen de fans en de radiateur.
De boel is wel alweer dicht, dus de met een beetje geluk geen re-entry vehicle taferelen meer. Ik ga er zo eens een stukje mee rijden, kijken of de boel dicht blijft.

Tot nu toe is de boel niet meer in brand gevlogen, dus het gaat op zich de goede kant op. De nieuwe intercooler is ook tevoorschijn gekomen. Nog even een stapeltje bochten en koppelstukken bestellen, en dan kan die er ook in. Dan gaan we of door met de PT setup, of de uitlaat, het hangt er een beetje vanaf waar ik zin in heb.

Zit nog steeds te wachten op onderdelen. En al het bovenstaande begon met “effe” turbo inbouwen op een vrijdag middag. Dat is allemaal een beetje geescaleerd. Vandaag heeft de SV weer een startmotor soldaat gemaakt.

In zoverre een bij effect dat al het geklooi er aan wat ongemerkte bij effekten had hetgeen tot het opeten van startmotoren heeft geleid. Ik denk dat het nu wel goed is, en dat de eetlust voor startmotoren nu wel zal meevallen.

Zo langzamerhand een beetje gereden met de nieuwe turbo er op, en de RS200 intercooler. Het wordt zo best veel geweld. Ik moet nog wat stoeien met de VEMS instellingen, de VE is toch wel flink veranderd hier en daar. Dat vangt de lambdasonde wel aardig op, maar het is toch beter om de VE’s kloppend te hebben, dan zit hij veel sneller op de lambda doelwaarde, en als je aan het optrekken bent, maakt dat flink uit. Ik moet wel zeggen dat de effectiviteit van die RS200 intercooler wel indrukwekkend is, bij 180kpa (0,8 bar boost dus) bij 4000 toeren is de inlaatlucht wel 1,4 graad warmer dan als je gewoon rustig rijdt. Maar ja, het ziet er echt niet uit die rs200 unit, dus ik ga toch echt die nieuwe monteren. De nieuwe turbo maakt vanaf zo’n 2500 toeren 144kpa, wat de maximum boost is van een standaard gti turbo, en bij 3250 toeren, waar origineel het max koppel zit maakt hij al 175kpa, en misschien zit hij dan al tegen de boost controller aan.
De RS200 intercooler zit niet naar m’n zin, dus ik heb een andere in huis gehaald die zoals gezegd gewoon tussen fans en radiateur past. Nog even wat slangen en dat klussen we volgende week in elkaar.
Volgende stap is wat werk aan de primary trigger heb ik besloten, en ik blijk een oil catch tank nodig te hebben. Daarom hebben race auto’s ze dus, dat vroeg ik me altijd al wel een beetje af.
Als ik nu de Primary Trigger, Oil Catch tank en Uitlaat gedaan heb dan is het denk ik tijd voor weer een bezoek aan dp-engineering en hun dynapack.
