Good observation…
This Vanclee was found in Dalmatia (Croatia). Over the past years, somebody replace original chassis with Ami 8 chassis. And that is why batteurs are there. We left it like we found it.
What info I need is some technical information , like type of base, engine,gearbox,... how many of this cars produced and what is the classification of 2cv based Vanclee s . Like which one is Mungo and wich one is Emmet… That kind of stuf…

Hi Janez.
It’s not easy to say what’s original when basicaly a VanClee is a kitcar. Some cars are built on a existing 2cv base, others where new built cars (by vanClee).
If no changes have been made to the bodywork, a standard 2cv(6) chassis will fit, with the normal 2cv6 engine and gearbox.
I’ve been looking at some brochures and based on that:
This is a Van Clee Emmet

I had never heard about Van Clee until now

Maybe this can help you a little: http://www.nobug.be/2CV/Prospectus/CataMungo.pdf
Hi Janez,
Very nice restauration!
If my memory is ok there must be some 26 cars of Emmett, so you must be very lucky to find one and must be the only one in your country. They made much more of the Mungo. The problem with the Emmett, after a few cars the firm didn’t have any more money. The dauchter of one of the owners was modell and after she sponsored her daddy so he could build a second model. They were good car builders they build also a car for Paris Dakar, but they had never money left!
I own a Mungo and a Emmett, the Mungo is much more cofortable but the Emmett is more fun.Normaly the Emmett must not have some disk breaks and a other chassis, not from Ami6 but importend is that the car is complete and beautifull! The little lights for direction should not be round, it must be the lights of the Méhari but the second modell, they are very difficuld to find and also very expencive, about 50€.
I only want to help you and explane how the car was orginally!
I hope i could help you to explane your lovely car!
